Cabinets, drywall, tile, and fixtures fill space fast but aren't as heavy as concrete. A 15 yard handles many single-kitchen guts; add a bath or open a wall into the next room and a 20 yard is often safer so you aren't calling for a second haul mid-week.
Estate & Whole-House Cleanouts
Furniture, mattresses, and boxed clutter eat volume. If the house is mostly emptied already, a 20 yard may be enough. Packed basements and garages often need a 30, or skip the dumpster and book full-service junk removal / an estate cleanout so the crew does the carrying.
Concrete, Brick, Dirt & Tile
Heavy material fills the weight limit long before the box looks full. Plan on a smaller container (often 10 yard) dedicated to heavy debris — don't mix a kitchen gut and a concrete patio tear-out in one oversized box unless we say the allowance can handle it.
Driveway & Placement Reality Check
- Measure length and height clearance (wires, trees, garage overhangs).
- Ask for boards under the rails on finished driveways.
- Street placement in a village or city may need a local permit — check Monroe, Kiryas Joel, Middletown, Newburgh, etc.
